Look what the cat dragged in ... a Rugby World Cup Final

Well done and Congratulations to Graham Henry, The All Blacks and the citizens of New Zealand. We got through it all together, with a huge sigh of relief I’m sure. I know we weren’t worried about those Wallabies, it was everyone else. All of those "2nd Tier" teams aye guys hahaha.
So how does Fashion and Rugby connect you ask? Let’s use Dan Carter as a prime example of how Rugby and Fashion not only meet but thrive!  Thanks to the REAL NZ Festival there have been events like World of Wearable Arts, Miromoda Fashion Extravaganza, New Zealand Fashion Showcase which featured Designers like Annah Stretton, Bonds and Jockey, Blak Luxe, COOP, D’monic Intent, Hailwood, Helen Cherry, Huffer, Ingrid Starnes, Jimmy D, Juliette Hogan, Lonely Hearts,  MisteR, Ruby, Sabatini, Salasai, STARFISH, Trelise Cooper, Twenty Seven Names, WHIRI, Workshop, World and Zambesi. There was also Cult-Couture Fashion Design Awards and Style Pasifika – Best of Pasifika New Zealand which is this week at the Vector Arena.
Even New Zealand’s biggest fashion event NZFW 2011 had a venue and date change to accommodate our international visitors. This year NZFW was at the beautiful Viaducts Event Centre, which also hosted the live finale for TV3’s New Zealand Next Top Model.  Wow, look at that. In such a short amount of time we were able to showcase what NZ Fashion has to offer the world, all while the All Blacks are tearing it up at Eden Park.

Well done New Zealand! On the whole I’d have to say we did an amazing job at hosting this monster called the Rugby World Cup. Ex nay on the Opening Night muck up ;) Now all we have to do is win this last game and Bob’s your Uncle. Come on All Blacks, Kia kaha!!
