Fashion : NZFF 2012

Its that time again people. The first fashion event on the calendar for 2012. Im just glad the sun has decided to rear its head so I can actually have a natural tan, and finally put away my tube of sugar baby tinted moisturiser.

For those of you that havent heard of the NZ Fashion Festival here is a quick break down for you. This year it is being held from February 24th - March 4th at the Queens Wharf.
"The festival’s aim is to showcase exciting and innovative collections from New Zealand’s top designers and retailers through a series of runway shows, seminars and other exciting events around town. The first Fashion Festival received great acclaim within the industry and the public, and since then has built a loyal following from both industry experts and fashion lovers."  - Author of NZFF

This is the 3rd year for the NZ Fashion Festival. Last year I was lucky enough to be involved backstage dressing for the designer collection runway shows. The thing that I like most about these shows is that you get to see a range of NZ designers and NZ retailers all in one show. Here they showcase what is currently instore and in-season, in NZ! This is also a good way to gauge where fashion and styling is heading for winter 2012. So if you want the edge, or inside scoop, grab yourself a girlfriend, or a boyfriend and head along to a seminar or a runway show. Get dolled up, have a glass of bubbles and get your fashion on!

Me personally, I was debating on whether to get in there and work the festival again.  Every show is always different. Designers are really stretching themselves with the theatrical extensions and concepts. I like it. To me, It adds drama and more dimension. It really enhances the overall feel of what the designer is trying to translate to us as an audience, fashion followers and ultimately and hopefully consumers by the end of it all. I love being backstage and seeing the magic happen. The energy that is flowing backstage is electric. Being able to see the garments close up and mentally deconstruct everything. To touch the different fabrics. To see the spectrum of color ..... and the shoes, Oh the shoes!!! But I've seen the schedule and done my research. There are some awesome seminars this year. They are very specific for me. I'd love to know and learn more about the different events they have running this year. Plus, I'd love to glam up, get the girls together and have some bubbles and break it down front row. What ever happens you know I'll be there with Mr Papparazi taking photos to no doubt share with you all.

For more info on the schedule. shows, seminars and anything else check out the website http://nzfashionfestival.com/ or like them on facebook for all updates

Fashion : NBTN Rock the Frock

Over the last 3 months NZ encountered hosting the Rugby World Cup. Keeping up appearances was a hard task with so many events being held. The biggest question of all was what the hell am I going to wear.
Below are just a couple of ways that my sisters and I ROCKED THE FROCK!

I think Chatzi wins this B&W combo, because of the shoe choice.
Sorry Kim, dont think that was the best pic from your shoe closet today.

Once again Charity shows how pretty in Pink she can be ...
Loving the earrings from Diva

Meanwhile Leopard doesnt have to be something that makes you think Mel B Scary Spice either.
below is a Rodarte dress with patent belt and Christian Louboutins

Keeping everything else simple & chic means you wont look like you've just escaped out of the Zoo.

Fashion : VNZMA's 2011 - Hitting the Red Carpet

Last night I got to style my sister and artist Sienna who went along with her bestie Skye to the Vodafone NZ Music Awards. Here's a quick breakdown of the styling.

We channelled the Rihanna from Russian Roullette with the hairstyling.

Make up was a bronzed eye with a touch of smokiness.
It wasn't a heavy look this time as it was a mid afternoon going into evening timetable.

Shoe choice was a corked square heel cage style shoe.

I don't blame that random stranger for holding the door open for my sister and asking if she was Rihanna lol

Well done to all the winners this year!

Sienna said the atmosphere was electric and it was a hard choice between
Brooke Faser and Che Fu being the best live acts last night.

Brooke Fraser in a shaggy Kate Sylvester number

Congratulations to Ladi 6 for winning Best Urban / Hip Hop album

Here she is wearing a very unmistakeable Shona Tawhiao necklace,
My husband particularly loved this Top Hat

Cherry Docs way cool ... but Red shoes + Red carpet im not sure about

I am loving this electric purple on Shavaughn Ruakere, cant go past that pout can you.

Ruby Frost looking uber cute dripping with white lace vintage dress and candy pink hair

Shannan Ryan had 3 Juliette Hogan costume changes throughout the night
and her co-host Ben Boyce looking rather un WANNA-Ben wearing Gibson

Who did you like and loathe this year? How did you think my styling compared?
Would love to have your feedback so please keep the comments coming readers

Fashion : NBTN - B*@tch stole my look!

Headed out to support our sister Sienna and her band Foundation for their video release party. Arts will be moving to Melbourne at the end of the month so I think this will either be our last big night out with her, or we can maybe try and squeeze something in before she flies out. I must say we all looked rather lovely and we definitely rocked our own individual styles that night. Wish my baby sis Charm was there that night to complete the Wolfpack XX

Beauty bargain of the week:
Goes to Charity, this was .... under $20 dollars, thats all Im giving away readers hehehe

Chatzi wore a caramel macro suede dress that finishes at a mid calf length.
The diamond panel under the bust allows the dress to gather and have slimming rouching affect.
This dress worked really well for Chatzi's shoulders and bodyshape.
Shoe choice tonight were what we have named the 'Tribals' ...
but are more commonly known as the Spicy Sandal Collection from Louis Vuitton 2009 in Burgundy

Charity wore her Carrie inspired tutu skirt with a grey marle t-shirt.
Patent heels and a letterman jacket.
Simple accessories, simple high bun, simple clean makeup ... simply beautiful!

Here she is pictured with our sister from another brothers mother lol.
Please say hello to Harajuku meets NYC, Noiz Faofua, our sister in-law.
These 2 ladies are the "Queens of Steez"

Love the shoes Jay X cough cough Jeffrey Campbell Bandits

Sienna wore the newest Foundation tees which are available to order from this site http://foundation.printmighty.co.nz/en/products/show/5520. We love these!
Paired with a dirty red  ripped denim short with a navy patent skinny belt.
Foundation's live performances are very high energy so she opted for white canvas low cut Chuck Taylors.
Sienna's very edgy haircut allows her to really rock this outfit!

Sienna rocking it out on-stage. Foundation Raggae Aotearoa!!

Im wearing a gold sleeveless tunic which had a crossover back.
I really love the color of this dress and the way it catches the light.
It nearly crosses over to bronze chartreuse color.

The crossover back wasn't shown off that night as I wore my safety blanket black blazer.
Shoe choice were black suede platform pointed heels with studding on the back.

Arts found a cute black sweetheart neckline mini dress.
I love the extra zip detailing in the neckline. Mixing hard with such a cutesy styled dress.
Black opaque stockings and super wicked Zambesi bone suede Brogues. Cow! lol

Accesorized with a celtic gold cuff bracelet and a ribbon necklace with pearls and chains.
Finished off with a navy cropped off the shoulder jumper with 4 simple letters: LOVE

Cropped haircuts are the way to go we think Ladies
